The Middle Republican Natural Resources District is responsible
for the protection of the natural resources
and assists landowners in planning, funding,
and applying conservation practices.

Scholarships

Post-High School Scholarships:

Apply online for this scholarship. Deadline is April 2, 2008

The district has two scholarships available to district students. Each scholarship is worth $200. Students should be enrolled in a natural resources or an agriculture related field. Applications are accepted each year from January 1 to April 1.

2007-08 Recipients are:

  • Kay Kaczor, Medicine Valley High School (Chadron State College)
  • Katherine M Friesen Wallace High School (North Platte Community College)

Camp Scholarships

Apply online for this scholarship. Deadline is May 1, 2007

The Middle Republican NRD awards scholarships to high school students residing within the District who qualify for all the guidelines outlined in the camp application. Scholarships are available to students attending the Nebraska Range Youth Camp, or the Sanhills Academy. Other camps or workshops dealing with natural resources topics may qualify pending the approval of the MRNRD Board of Directors. One scholarship from each of the five counties in the MRNRD is available each year and the scholarship amount is equal to the camp registration fee.

2007 Summer Camp Scholarship Recipients:

  • Laura Ann Barger of Wauneta
  • Brandon Storrs of McCook

Laura will attended the Nebraska Youth Range Camp in June. Brandon was unable to attend the Sandhills Academy. This camp was cancelled due to a lack of enrollment.

Educator Scholarships

Scholarships are available to district educators who are interested in continuing education in a natural resources or agriculture related field. Two scholarships are available district-wide, each worth $150.
