Arbor Day Tree Presentations
The program that was done at the local schools was Tree Olympics which consisted of 16 stations and one bonus station. Each one had a question and visual aids related to trees, Arbor Day, and Natural Resources. After every group had completed all of the stations, the answers were then explained in detail. There was also a poster contest with the theme: “Trees work for Us”. Each school picked a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place poster winner and they received ribbons. Then the first place poster winners from each school went on to be selected for an overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place District winners!! The 3 District poster winners for 2016 were:
1st: Ariana Pierson-McCook Central;
2nd: Elise Jackson – Medicine Valley;
3rd: Angyll Hasse – Stratton.
The NRD Secretaries enjoyed working with and seeing all the enthusiasm from all the students and teachers in learning about Arbor Day and our Natural Resources.
