March 2024 Regular Meeting Notice & Agenda

The Middle Republican Natural Resources District Board of Directors will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM, at the Middle Republican NRD office, 208 Center Avenue, Curtis, Nebraska. The agenda, kept current, is available during regular business hours at the NRD office in Curtis.  Individuals wishing to attend may do so, please contact our office for further direction at 308-367-4281 or 800-873-5613.

The Middle Republican Natural Resources District (MRNRD) voted to change the number of board members and move voting district boundaries due to the change in the 2020 Census and the ability to get to the near 1:1 voting.

 They discussed several options and voted to move from 13 board members to 11 board members.  They will be nominated and voted on by districts within the MRNRD.  Please check out the maps for the new districts.

5th Generation IMP Order

An IMP is jointly developed and adopted by NeDNR and an NRD for integrated surface water and groundwater management within the NRD. This IMP between NeDNR and MRNRD is required under Neb. Rev. Stat. § 46-715 (1)(a). The entirety of MRNRD was determined to be fully appropriated on July 16, 2004, under the requirements of LB962 Laws 2004, Sec. 60 (3)(b). Under this legislation, areas for which NeDNR had previously determined a joint action plan was necessary, under prior law, were designated as fully appropriated as of the operative date of LB962 (2004).

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service will be holding a Local Working Group meeting at the McCook USDA Service Center located at 1400 West 5th Street in McCook, NE (Red Willow County Fairgrounds) on May 21st, 2015.  The Meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run to, approximately, 12:00 p.m.  The meeting will discuss natural resource conservation program priorities.  The meeting is open to the public.  For individuals needing special accommodations, please contact Jason Kennedy at 308-345-4163 ext. 3.
